Ride Smart Instructor pre-training

Ride Smart Pre-Training is the preparation Ride Smart instructors to complete before attending in-person training. It introduces the core concepts, terminology, and teaching approach used in Ride Smart, so participants arrive with a baseline understanding of the program. This helps maximize hands-on time during training and ensures instructors are ready to deliver skills safely, consistently, and effectively.

Ride Smart is an on-site cycling education program that teaches youth how to ride safely, confidently, and independently. Through fun, hands-on instruction, participants build essential bike handling skills and learn how to navigate real-world riding environments. The program focuses on safety, confidence, and creating lifelong riders.

To bring Ride Smart to more communities across the province, New Hope Community Bikes trains individuals and community groups—like schools, police services, community centres, and bike shops—to deliver the program with the same high quality.

Through this training, more people have the opportunity to ride their bikes for transportation, recreation, and fun—safely and confidently.
